Glidepath continues expansion strategy

New Zealand-based baggage systems specialist Glidepath has expanded its presence in India with a new Mumbai office, including additional sales and engineering personnel to focus on client relationships and contracts in the region.

Activity in the region includes the current installation of the Indore baggage system and a departure system at Cochin Airport.

The company's presence in China has also been expanded with Tim Kotlar appointed as China general manager and Chen Tongzhou hired as a local expert project and technical sales manager.

A specialist Glidepath team in Shanghai has recently battled challenging conditions on-site to complete installation of a Powerwalk moving walkway for the Saudi Arabia pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo.

The company also has a team installing new baggage systems at seven separate airports in Peru; and has recently finished installation of a system at Iquique Airport in Chile.

In Saudi Arabia, Glidepath has recently completed installation of a baggage system in Maiden Selah Airport; and has started work on an in-line screening system at Yanbu Airport.

In Botswana, the company is finishing a project for Sir Sereste Khama Airport and will shortly begin a project at Francistown Airport.

In New Zealand, after completing small projects at Rotorua and Queenstown, Glidepath is now working on construction of a baggage system for a new terminal at Christchurch International Airport which will have the project team busy until late 2011.

In Australia, Glidepath is completing a project at Newcastle Airport, and is working on an extension of a cargo system for Australian Air Express at Melbourne.

There has also been an upgrade of a baggage system at Port Hedland Airport.
