CANSO reports that 73 per cent of its member air navigation service providers were busier in February than in the same month in 2009, supporting reports from other industry entities about returning traffic.
Thirty-two of 44 ANSPs "controlled more movements in February 2010 compared to the corresponding period last year, suggesting that the industry is continuing to recover from the economic crisis", according to the CANSO report.
However, the ANSPs which experienced a decline in movements included some major players, including the FAA (down 3.8 per cent), Airservices Australia (3.65 per cent), NAV Canada (three per cent) and NATS UK (2.9 per cent) - so it's not all beer and roses just yet.
Ireland's IAA had the biggest drop at just over eight per cent.
Airways NZ was just on the poistive side of the ledger, but CAAS in Singapore recorded 12.25 per cent growth, which is indeed encouraging for a regional hub that has had to deal with challenges from the Gulf.
