Universal Fabric Structures was selected by Jetstar Pacific Airlines to supply and construct an Alu-Span TFS fabric structure to be located at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
The Alu-Span TFS 40m wide x 45m long aluminium structure, with open gable ends and a metal halide high bay lighting system, is to be utilised as a temporary aviation hangar providing maintenance and servicing capabilities to the airlines fleet of Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 aircraft.
UFS sent a Site Supervisor to Vietnam to manage the construction locally and the project management was handled from the UFS Head Office in Kingscliff, NSW.
In order to support community businesses, local construction companies from Ho Chi Minh City were used to provide labour for the project.
The hangar will be initially utilised for a 9 month rental period and Jetstar is looking at purchasing a structure from UFS at the expiration of the lease.
