The Queensland Government is looking for public comment on the environmental impact statement associated with the proposed Sunshine Coast Airport expansion project.
The Sunshine Coast Regional Council proposes a $418.6 million expansion of the airport, including:
* a new 2430 metre runway
* expansion of the RPT apron
* a new terminal
* expansion of the aviation busines precinct
Comment is specifically invited on the draft terms of reference for the project, because the Federal Minister for Environment has decided that the project may have "a significant impact upon matters of national environmental significance".
The Queensland Coordinator General's department will provide the Federal Minister with an impact assessment based in part on public submissions.
The draft terms of reference can be viewed at projects.industry.qld.gov/au and the comments form can be obtained at the same site.
Comments will be accepted up until 5pm on Monday 2 April 2012.
