China’s first Maintenance Organization dedicated to Business aviation has been certified by the Civil Aviation Administration of China.
Shanghai Hawker Pacific Business Aviation Service Centre received the approval for Part 145 Maintenance Operations from the CAAC following an extensive audit and inspection process.
Located at Shanghai’s Hongqiao International Airport, the 4000 square meter maintenance facility is located adjacent to Shanghai’s first Fixed Base Operator (FBO) facility, also operated by Shanghai Hawker Pacific.
The FBO opened in April 2010 and has been providing service to China’s business aviation community since.
The Certification is seen as a critical tipping point in Business aviation in China.
“With this final piece of the jigsaw, we now have all the fundamentals in place to provide new levels of confidence in aircraft ownership to both aircraft owners and manufacturers alike,” commented Carey Matthews, General Manager Shanghai Hawker Pacific Business Aviation Service Centre.
“We believe this will, in turn, lead to tremendous opportunities for Business aviation ownership across China.”
Shanghai Hawker Pacific’s Maintenance Operations will be undertaken at the Company’s state-of the-art facility located at Shanghai’s first airport, Hongqiao International Airport.
With 4000 square meters of floor space (43,000 sq. ft.) coupled with clearance to accommodate a Boeing 737 or Airbus 320, the facility is the first dedicated to corporate aviation in China.
