Qantas has dominated an Australian PR disasters list for 2011 with three listings in the Top 10, including Number 1.
PRDisasters.com says that the sudden grounding of its entire fleet earned Qantas the the No 1 billing.
But close behind at No 2 was the airline's Twitter promotion that went horribly wrong, very quickly.
And at No 5 was the Qantas 'golliwogs' social media rugby promo, which also stirred up a negative reaction.
Unfortunately it was the second year in a row that the airline topped the list.
Out of interest, the No 3 slot was taken by troubled AFL star Brendan Fevola; and No 4 went to Tony Abbott for that "mute, shaking-head TV intervew freeze".
According to PR Disasters, the list is intended to highlight "the worst examples of business, celebrity, government, media and sports PR blunders".
"To qualify as a PR disaster, the incident must catalyse sustained negative media coverage for the brand, business or person at the centre of the story."
