Pratt and Whitney Canada’s facility in Brisbane provides services across the Asia Pacific region.

P&WC powering on

Pratt and Whitney Canada (P&WC) powers the largest fleet of business and regional aircraft, including helicopters, in the world.

With over 45,000 engines flying worldwide and close to 1,500 engines in Australia, the company claims that a Pratt and Whitney-powered aircraft takes off or lands every second somewhere in the world.

P&WC counts over 10,000 operators globally, and operates a business strategy involving new-generation green engines and quality support.

The organisation has more than 30 company-owned and designated services facilities, a 24/7 Customer First Centre for expert and rapid assistance, and an extensive parts distribution network to deliver frontline service.

P&WC employs more than 100 field support representatives worldwide, and offers mobile repair teams as well as a supply of rental and exchange engines available to the industry.

P&WC has been present in Brisbane since 1986, with a facility offering overhaul capabilities for PT6A engines as well as repair services for PW100 engines and others including the PW600 and JT15D.

The Brisbane service-centre facility covers more than 30 countries in the Asia Pacific region.

In addition to its overhaul capabilities, the service centre includes dedicated repair lines, Hot Section Inspection areas, and dedicated mobile repair teams.

The P&WC Service Centre network provides field maintenance support for P&WC engines 24 hours a day, seven days a week, as mobile repair teams can be dispatched to any location to meet maintenance requirements.

The mobile repair teams operate on the concept that on-wing repairs eliminate the need to remove the engine and subsequently re-install it, meaning aircraft can return to service with minimal disruption.

The Brisbane facility also supports Eco Wash on commercial and military engines.

With the addition of a Parts Distribution Centre in Sydney, P&WC is continuing to grow its reach and its capability to respond quickly and efficiently to customer demands for the dispatch of spare parts.

Within the Australian aviation community, P&WC is a gold sponsor of the Regional Aviation Association of Australia (RAAA), and supports the agricultural market through yearly participation in the Aerial Agricultural Association of Australia (AAAA).

Pratt and Whitney Canada, which manufactures auxiliary power units and industrial gas turbines as well as designing, manufacturing and servicing aircraft engines, is a subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation, a diversified company providing high technology products and services to the global aerospace and building industries.
