NZ airline operations software company merlot.aero has scored its first North American win, working with WestJet Encore, the new regional subsidiary of WestJet, to launch a true cloud-based airline operations management system in 2013.
WestJet Encore will use the system to optimize crew utilisation, as well as control and report on core operational information.
This will enable Encore to manage its business, achieve regulatory compliance, maximze operational efficiency and focus on scalable growth.
The cloud technology platform means WestJet Encore will quickly be able to get up and running and fully integrated with the system using a web browser, rather than a whole new IT system.
The merlot.aero system is the first fully cloud-based airline operations management system designed by a team of industry professionals specifically for the airline industry.
merlot.aero combines the power of the latest software development technologies with a new approach in the way software is delivered and consumed to provide efficiencies in scalability and processing speed unheard of until now in comparable enterprise software.
The convergence of cloud, social, and mobile means WestJet Encore will be able to easily collaborate company-wide.
The mutual benefits of social interaction and mobility together combine to empower individuals as they interact with information on whatever devices they want in a manner that is new and fresh in mission-critical software.
merlot.aero chief executive Mark McCaughan says, “Cloud computing unlocks an airline’s operations department to work mobile and social; collaborating and communicating with the entire airline”.
“Company-wide our philosophy is that there’s more to software than code and functionality.
“We have a commitment to completely understand our customer and provide a partnership approach to each and every relationship we have to ensure we proactively help our clients grow.”
