Hawker Pacific Shanghai completes first major maintenance

Following the recent approval as a Part 145 Maintenance Organization by the Civil Aviation Administration of China, Shanghai Hawker Pacific Business Aviation Service Centre has completed the first scheduled maintenance inspection on a Chinese registered corporate aircraft.

The milestone is the latest in a string of firsts for both the facility and Chinese Business Aviation. 

The maintenance inspection is the first scheduled maintenance event completed on a corporate aircraft by an Authorized Service Centre and an independent MRO in China’s history. 

Shanghai Hawker Pacific Business Aviation Service Centre is also the first Authorized Service Centre in China for Business Aviation and was the first independent MRO to be certified in the country in late 2011.

The facility is an approved Authorized Service Center for Hawker Beechcraft.

SHPBASC completed the work on a Chinese owned and operated mid-size business jet last month.

Commenting on the achievement, Ross Nicholls, Director of Maintenance stated, “The work went extremely well and the customer was delighted with the speed and quality of the maintenance.

"We’re quite proud of our team’s contribution to this historic event in China’s rapidly evolving business aviation sector.”

Located at Shanghai’s Hongqiao International Airport, the 4000 square meter maintenance facility is located adjacent to Shanghai’s first FBO. 

The FBO opened in April 2010 and has been providing service to China’s business aviation community since.

Shanghai Hawker Pacific Business Aviation Service Centre (SHPBAS) is a joint venture between Shanghai Airport Authority and Hawker Pacific.
