Engine MRO rolls on

Asia Pacific Aerospace (APA), the only Australian-based company that is a Rolls-Royce Authorised Maintenance Centre, specialises in the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) of small to medium gas turbine engines.

APA's purpose-built facilities close to Brisbane's International Airport contain the most advanced technology test cells in Australia.

One test cell is dedicated to the support of the GE T700 engine used by the ADF in the Blackhawk and Seahawk aircraft.

The second test cell supports both the Rolls-Royce Model 250 and Honeywell LTS 101 series engines.

It is the only Rolls-Royce correlated test cell in Australia.

APA's Rolls-Royce test cell was correlated in March 2009 and can be used on all Model 250 exhaust engines.

In addition, APA has extensive workshops where the engines are dismantled, cleaned, inspected, repaired and overhauled, and re-assembled.

These workshops are equipped with the latest support and test equipment. APA also has a comprehensive and separate machine shop.

APA has been, for the past seven years, the ADF's supplier of deeper maintenance and systems support for the GE T700 engine installed on the Seahawk and Blackhawk.

During this time APA has built an extremely strong relationship with the contract authority Naval Aviation Systems Project Office (NASPO) and the Army Aviation Systems Project Office (AASPO).

APA has participated in the DMO Scorecard since its inception.

In human capital, APA has some of the most experienced Rolls-Royce Model 250 Series technicians in Australia.

These technicians have accumulated over 60 years of deeper maintenance experience between them.

All of them have worked for either Rolls-Royce or a Rolls-Royce Authorised Maintenance Centre.
