Aviation Australia scores additional CASA approvals

Aviation Australia has recently gained approval from CASA recognising training programs as an alternative to passing CASA examinations and gaining experience for the purposes of AME licensing.

An approval for Dash 8 Avionics type training has also been awarded.

Aviation Australia subject Aviation Legislation (Module 10) has been approved as an alternative to CASA’s basic licensing subject Airworthiness Administration (AA).

Mr Paul Bredereck, CEO Aviation Australia, says “this means engineers can now either attend training, self study, or study online and complete Aviation Australia’s examination to gain an AA credit.”

“This subject and examination provides a modern alternative to AA and includes additional recent and emerging legislation.

“The program may also be delivered for organisations at a nominated site, subject to approval, if this better suits the client’s needs.”

Likewise to Module 10, Aviation Australia has also gained CASA approval to deliver a range of aircraft composite programs as an alternative to CASA requirements.

The composite programs have been developed to meet the needs of industry in the performance of aircraft maintenance.

“These programs provide theoretical credits as an alternative to CASA licensing subject Composites (FP). We also provide programs which allow candidates to gain experience credits towards Airframe Group 7 (Composites) licensing rather than gaining this experience on the job,” says Mr Bredereck.

To complement recent approvals, Aviation Australia has also been approved by CASA to deliver Bombardier DASH 8 – 100/200/300 Avionics aircraft type training, a capability currently in high demand in the aviation industry. The first course commences in Cairns 1st March 2010.

“All of these approvals provide flexibility for the Australian aircraft maintenance industry in developing and sustaining a qualified future workforce.”
