ASSET Aviation now provides IATA training courses in Australia

IATA has made ASSET Aviation its official Regional Training Partner in Australia, providing Australian commercial aviation with local access to internationally-recognised training courses.

ASSET Aviation will now offer a range of IATA’s aviation training courses, specifically selected to meet the needs of the local industry and taught by highly-specialised and IATA-qualified trainers from around the globe.

IATA, as the peak commercial aviation industry body which sets many of the global standards for aviation, has selected ASSET Aviation to deliver its suite of training programs, known in the industry as the most relevant, up-to-date and practical training in the world.

ASSET Aviation CEO, Captain Mat Petrenko (pictured), said that it was a great privilege to be an IATA Regional Training Partner.

“The Oceania region has never had access to local IATA training courses before now, and this meant that aviation personnel had to travel across the globe to access these essential courses,” he said.

“Being able to provide these courses locally means lower training costs for aviation operators and reduced time away for key personnel, while still having access to world-standard training that is constantly updated and improved by the IATA Training Institute.

“Students can even undertake full Diploma courses with us and all qualifications achieved by the students are internationally recognised.

“As Aviation Auditors and Consultants, ASSET Aviation gets a big picture view of the types of skills which local aviation operators need to make their operations even safer and more efficient, so we have selected courses for 2012 which reflect that knowledge gap”.

ASSET Aviation’s IATA Course Schedule for 2012 begins in March and includes courses in three key areas: Safety and Emergency Management, Internal Auditing and the development of in-house training and training management skills.

The first course, Advanced Safety Management Systems, will run from 5-9 March.

Courses will initially be held in Brisbane, with expansion to other Australian cities and across the Oceania region planned for the future.

IATA instructors, both local and international, will teach the courses in Australia, each instructor having had many years of hands-on commercial aviation experience in their field of specialisation as well as having undergone extensive training with IATA to ensure the best possible learning experience for students.

The IATA Course Schedule and course details are available at www.aviationclassroom.com.

Courses can be booked directly with ASSET Aviation.

“It’s a great boon for the local commercial aviation industry to have an IATA Training Centre in Australia and with the predicted skills shortages in aviation over the next two decades, it is critical that we can offer world-leading aviation training here,” Captain Petrenko said.
