The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has announced it has no objection to Airservices Australia's revised pricing strategy for air services.
After earlier this month deeming Airservices’ proposed price increases for air services such as air traffic control too high – to the tune of the organisation over-recovering its costs by $49million over five years – the ACCC has declared Airservices’ revised proposal fair.
“Airservices has now proposed lower prices than were in its previous proposal, which the ACCC believes will not lead it to over-recover its costs,” ACCC Chairman Rod
Sims said.
Airservices is now free to implement its revised pricing strategy as planned from October 1.
